Summary
A Mission to Protect is part of the series in for those who read one of the previous books you’ll be excited to see that the Red Rose serial killer has escaped prison. He is a serious threat and several people are murdered within the first few chapters of the book. Felicity was in basic training with him and is on his list of people to kill. Felicity is a very relatable character. She has lost her father and is now the target of a serial killer. She is in the canine training program. She happens to be the youngest in the training so she feels like her boss Wesley gives her a very hard time. She has a great balance of strength but also dealing with her grief that makes her very human and relatable and still strong. Wesley is her boss at the canine training facility in the military. I really liked his character and how his feelings for her are revealed. He explains why he’s treated her so tough because he was concerned that people will think he showed her favoritism because he was attracted to her. Their attraction is way more than physical. The author shares the character traits of each of them and why the other is attracted to them. There are several secondary characters and I have suspected several of them of being involved. It created a very suspenseful story.
