ER nurse Sloane Ferrell escaped her risky past—new name, zip code, job, and a fresh start. She’s finally safe, if she avoids a paper trail and doesn’t let people get too close. Like the hospital’s too-smooth marketing man with his relentless campaign to plaster one “lucky” employee’s face on freeway billboards.
Micah Prescott’s goal is to improve the Hope hospital image, but his role as a volunteer crisis responder is closer to his heart. The selfless work helps fill a void in his life left by family tragedy. So does a tentative new relationship with the compassionate, beautiful, and elusive Sloane Ferrell.
Then a string of brutal crimes makes headlines, summons responders . . . and exposes disturbing details of Sloane’s past.

Summary
I'm a huge fan of Candace Calvert and will pick up her books without even reading the description. I was a little slow getting into this book, however once I did, I absolutely loved it. If you've been following the series Sloane was going to take a little bit for us to start liking her. In Maybe it’s You, we start to understanding her history and her past. I loved how she always fights for the underdog and truly gets the mission of being a nurse. She seems so lost; you wonder how she's going to trust God. Also her battle with alcoholism is another side of the story that links interestingly with his. When you think the story is too serious, the author throws in some fun whether it is a lifetime supply of cereal or their adorable dates.
Micah is so sweet and gentle with her and willing to go slow. He was so creative with their dates. Micah is the PR rep for the hospital which immediately puts him at odds with Sloane who is desperate to stay under the radar. Micah is also a member of the Crisis Team which surprises Sloane and breaks the wall of ice between them.
I'm not a fan of journalists so of course I was putting Coop in the bad guy role immediately.
The author surprised me and I absolutely love that. I never saw it coming.
The cover is beautiful and the author did a great job of using the book title in the book. It’s the small things that a true book lover is moved by.
Sexual content: kissing, hugging,
