Summary
"Which window is yours?"
Dani Prescott can scarcely believe that the man she has been camera stalking just caught her looking, not towards the hospital windows, but at him. It's fortunate that the handsome, confident Brett Somers has no idea what she was really doing. If he did, he certainly would not have asked her to spend the evening with him at a vintage theater watching Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman on the big screen. Dani knows that she should never have said "yes"; obviously she wasn't thinking, because one evening turns into a myriad of pleasant conversations, invitations, and aspirations, until eventually the person she once determined to hate has wormed his way into her traitorous heart. It seems impossible for this story to have a happy ending.
"I trusted in the Lord when I said, 'I am greatly afflicted'. "Psalm 116:10
Brett Somers is not used to being in the "greatly afflicted" category, he has lived life in the fast lane, enjoying the fringe benefits of a powerful family, limitless career opportunities, and beautiful women. It's only when a helpless little boy, who happens to be his son, is hanging onto life by a thread that Brett's moral compass shifts into neutral, causing him to question his entire list of priorities. Is it a coincidence that a lovely brunette captures his eye and makes him feel like for once, everything could turn out alright? Only time will tell.
This is an outstanding story of two souls whose regrets are buried deep within, but thankfully "nothing is impossible with God"! Wonderful book!
