What do you like about this book:
Summer Velasquez is suffering from retrograde amnesia after being attacked in her home. She knows who she is and can remember her childhood and college years, but she has no memory from the past few years. At first, Summer believes her injuries to be from an accident in her home. When she finds out they were intentionally inflicted, she decides to avoid potentially putting her family at risk by sneaking away to a new town to recover. She lands at a town in Southern Ontario named Elora. Upon her are she takes the name of Ana Santos and lands a job at the Taste of Heaven Cafe. When Ryan walks into the cafe she is immediately drawn to him. The more she gets to know him, the deeper her attraction grows. However, once her memories start to resurface, she realizes Ryan has deceived her, and he’s not the only one.
If you enjoy reading Christian fiction, you will like Lost Down Deep. It is a suspenseful romance and is the first book in a series. The characters are realistic and likable, albeit flawed. I particularly enjoyed the friendship bonds that were formed during the story and the healing and growth of the characters.
As is common with the Christian Fiction genre, this story does have religious overtones. However they are not overbearing or heavily seated in a particular religious group. You will also enjoy that the story is free from profanity and sex scenes. There is a bit of violence, but it is not persistent nor graphic.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a clean romantic suspense novel. I personally am excited to read the next book in the series.
