What do you like about this book:
Zezilia has been left behind at the compound while Hadrian is off helping the High King recapture the capital city. The isolation from him is almost more than she can bear after their prolonged period of intimate joining. To keep herself busy, she assist as a mind healer. One of her patients is Hadrian’s brother Emil whom she had met briefly in book two. As a result of their connection, he develops a fondness for her and pursues her relentlessly despite her resistance. She has longings for no one but Hadrian, but wonders if they will ever share a bond again.
Living Sacrifice is the third book in The Talented series of fantasy novels. I highly recommend you read the previous two books before reading this one as there is a lot of background information you will need in order to understand what is happening and to obtain maximum value from this book. This is an excellent read. There were two quotes from this book that I really liked. “Remember to seek the path the Almighty has set for you. It is not always the obvious one, hardly ever the easy one, and rarely the popular one.” The second one is “Sometimes it takes a period of darkness for us to appreciate the light.” There is also a beautiful scene between Zez and Hadrian, but I won’t tell you which as it would be a spoiler. You will recognize it when you read it. As with the previous books in this series, it is a clean book. I highly recommend this book to fantasy lovers of all ages.
