A STUNNING NEW NOVEL FROM ONE OF THE BEST-SELLING AUTHORS OF ALL TIME!
The #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER!
Set in a small-town North Carolina amusement park in 1973, Joyland tells the story of the summer in which college student Devin Jones comes to work as a carny and confronts the legacy of a vicious murder, the fate of a dying child, and the ways both will change his life forever.
“I love crime, I love mysteries, and I love ghosts. That combo made Hard Case Crime the perfect venue for this book, which is one of my favorites. I also loved the paperbacks I grew up with as a kid, and for that reason, we’re going to hold off on e-publishing this one for the time being. Joyland will be coming out in paperback, and folks who want to read it will have to buy the actual book.” –Stephen King

Summary
his Stephen King novel is a great read. It is a fairly short story compared to most of Stephen King's books and is only 283 pages. The plot is fast paced and gives us a wonderful insight into the lives of the people who work at the Joyland amusement park. We get to see life behind the scenes of the various rides and stalls where the public go and try their hand at the shooting arcade or the coconut shy to hopefully win a prize. The story is about college student Devin Jones who just wanted a summer job which would maybe help him get over the girl that had recently broken his heart. He got more than he bargained for when he joined Joyland. He found out that a terrible murder had been committed there in the Horror House and his friend had seen something horrible which he could not even talk about.
