Summary
From: Isaac
Book Title: The Hunted
Book Author: Mike Dellosso
What do you like about this book:
Reading The Hunted, Dellosso's debut novel, I find myself appreciating how far he has come. This book bore all the aspects of a poor, must-not-read novel—unintelligent writing, wooden dialogue, bad story construction, and it was just plain preachy. In addition, The Hunted had a unsettling aspect to it, taking away any reason why it should be read. If you want to read Mike Dellosso, I suggest you read his later books.
Sexual Content: The story revolves around a rape, which is frequently alluded to, but never described. Joe and Maggie's past relationship suggests a hint of sexuality. Again, never described. But, now, their developing romance is treated gradually. A reference is made to a man having a porn stash.
Violence: Frequent and graphic, The Hunted features shredded, bloody corpses—what's left of them at least. The creature mauls men and even a child to achieve its goals. These disturbing aspects add a dark, stomach-churning atmosphere to the novel, one that sensitive readers would want to stay clear of.
Language: None.
Drug/Alcohol: None.
P.S. This next section, I added because I felt that it was needed to give you a full grasp of its content.
Negative Elements: The antagonist is mentally ill and sees, hears, and thinks different fictional characters are out to kill him. His sessions are described with dark intent for evil purposes.
