Summary
Book Review: High Caliber Holiday by Susan Sleeman
High Caliber Holiday is another enjoyable romantic suspense from Susan Sleeman. As a longtime fan of her writing, I always know I’m in for a fast-paced mystery with likable characters and plenty of action.
Although this was my first book in the series, it worked well as a standalone. Morgan Thornsby is rebuilding her life after surviving a traumatic hostage situation, leaving behind her career as an attorney to pursue work that truly makes a difference. Brady Owens, a former Marine sniper and member of the First Response Squad, carries emotional scars of his own and is determined to protect Morgan when she becomes the target of a dangerous stalker.
The suspense builds steadily as the threats against Morgan escalate, and I enjoyed watching Brady and Morgan work together while slowly developing feelings for one another. Brady was an especially likable hero, and I appreciated his protective nature and personal growth throughout the story.
If you enjoy clean romantic suspense with engaging characters, a strong mystery, and plenty of action, High Caliber Holiday is another solid addition to Susan Sleeman’s catalog.
