As teenagers, Kristin Dane and her two best friends took a vow to make the world a better place. Twenty years later, she’s fulfilling that pledge through her fair trade shop that features products from around the world. All is well until, one by one, people connected to the shop begin dying.
Detective Luke Carter, new to the St. Louis PD, wants to know why. Before he can answer that question, however, the FBI weighs in and Kristin suddenly finds herself in the middle of international intrigue–and in the sights of the ruthless mastermind behind an ingenious and deadly, scheme. Can this cold-blooded killer be stopped before more people die . . . including Kristin?
Three-time RITA Award-winner and “queen of inspirational romantic suspense” (Library Journal) Irene Hannon doesn’t disappoint in this edge-of-your-seat thriller that will have readers up late as they rush toward the explosive conclusion.

Summary
Is book two in the Code of Honor series. It could also be called the Treehouse Gang series. In book one, we experienced Colin and Trish’s story. Book two is Kristin’s story. She owns a story that sells products that support workers in third world countries. She is one of the more likeable female characters I have read. After a few deaths that appear related she becomes involved in helping the police find the murderer.
You immediately like Luke’s character when we meet him at the wedding. Hannon creates some special scenes with Luke. I truly enjoyed the entire scene at the wedding. And the scene at the end when he realizes what Kristin is willing to do. Luke’s sister and nephews add additional scenes that enhance the story.
Hannon created a wonderful balance between a suspenseful plot line and endearing characters that drew you in.
I have read all of her suspense books so I was over the moon when Nick and Mack were helping Luke. Nick’s story with his wife and the raggedy add doll were memorable. I highly recommend that series too.
So excited to read Rick’s story next. It cannot come soon enough.
If you are looking for an awesome writer. I highly recommend her.
Sexual content - just kissing, It was beautifully written.
Violence - there are a few deaths and threats and close calls.
