Michael Hunt is alive–and on the run. Presumed dead by friends and family, the undercover assignment he’s been working for the past eight months has just been blown. With a hit out on his life and corruption inside the Atlanta police department, Michael finds himself hunted by both the cartel and the law. Summary
Overall Hidden Agenda by Lisa Harris is book three in the Southern Crimes series. This is my first book by Lisa Harris and I felt the story stood alone well. The book
opens with Michael having been captured and interrogated. I was starting to think it might be more than I could handle from a violence perspective but it wasn’t. Michael has been working undercover and his family thinks he is dead. He is starting to think he might end up that way. Olivia and her brother, Ivan save him from certain death. He learns that they are the children of the man who wants him dead. This begins a chase as they try to stay one step ahead of the cartel. They eventually team up with his family (who are featured in the previous books) and try to determine how someone keeps finding them and trying to kill them. They suspect someone in the police department which added an additional element of suspense to the story. Hidden Agenda is an ideal read with a rough blend of mystery and a serving of romance. Great family relationships. It was emotional a couple times; especially when he goes to see his mom for the first time after returning. I was so pleased with how the author developed
Olivia’s brother and made him strong even with his disabilities. I recommend Hidden Agenda if you like a thriller with a quick developing romance.
