"I'm not a spy. I don't even care about your war . . . . I'm from the future."
Confused? You can imagine what Civil War Sergeant Caleb Dockery was experiencing. When a lovely apparition in the form of Amberlena Elizabeth Lowery appears at Rosswood Plantation, overdressed in a stunning yellow confection, his mind jumps to all sorts of conclusions. He never even saw her enter, . . . . . did he? And she not only uses words and phrases that he has never heard of, she seems to know more about medicine than their own camp doctor.
Lena Dockery and her mother were on a race against time; literally. Craving a relaxing mother-daughter weekend, they travel to the historic Rosswood Plantation's Bed and Breakfast, far away from Lena's startling diagnosis. As the weekend progresses, the clock ticks backwards for Lena; the past reverently becoming her future.
An intriguing novella by Stephenia McGee, cleverly weaving previous characters into an entertaining time-slip.
