Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will be also. Mathew 6:21 (NLT) This is not a book about how God wants you to be rich, nor is it a book about the “money secrets” of the Bible. This is the true story of how one woman’s journey to learn about Biblically Responsible Investing transformed her life and opened her heart to Jesus. As an author and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Cassandra Laymon researched the principles of biblically-based investing, and learned that she was unknowingly profiting from business practices that directly opposed her Christian faith. Do you know what companies you are invested in and what business practices you are profiting from? In this book Cassandra shares why it is important to know what you own, how to find out the truth, how you can align your faith and your investments and make your money matter.

Summary
I was honored to meet Cassandra at the International Christian Retail show and have the opportunity to interview her. I am new to biblically responsible investing (BRI) thought process and was intrigued after talking to her. The book is laid out very well. You get to know Cassandra, her testimony and learn about how BRI changed her life. I liked in the introduction how she laid out for us what we're going to learn in the chapters ahead. She addresses the issues most people are going to have. I was surprised to learn more about her backstory and all the ups and downs she went through. Today she is a very confident solid woman. She is very open about sharing her history and how she arrived at biblically responsible investing.
I was new to the concept of biblically responsible investing when I met Cassandra. I wish I had read the book before I met her. It's an excellent book that you can read in one sitting it's very conversational like you're sitting across the table from her. She sprinkles Scriptures throughout that support her text.
Biblically responsible investing is defined as investing in a way that seeks to please and glorify God as an act of worship. Cassandra is very transparent about her thought process and worries that I'm sure mirror many of us. We are just unwilling to share them publicly. Chapter 4 is really good about simplifying the stock market game.
Cassandra helps you address the issue of having a Christian investor who may not be aware of BRI.
She doesn't tell you what to do but she helps you with how to research if you choose to go this path. She explains the stock market in easy to understand language. I highly recommend this book if you are investing your money in any stocks or mutual funds.
