Your Days Are Numbered…And Clay Ryker Knows It.
Clay Ryker is a man with a dark past and an uncertain future. A failure in both business and marriage, he has come home after a decade away, hoping for a fresh start in the small Pacific Northwest town where he grew up.
But Clay harbors a terrible secret, one that even those closest to him don’t know. When increasingly sinister notes appear in the folds of his morning paper, Clay realizes that the truth is not so secret after all. Then people around him start dying and, with a serial killer on the loose, he discovers a terrible gift: he can foresee the timing of a person’s death–his or her expiration date.
As his newfound ability proves both a blessing and a curse, Clay’s foreknowledge could cost more than he can bear to lose. Working with ex-cop and investigator Vince Turney, Clay has no choice but to face up to the truth of his past. Will he find the courage to overcome an unspeakable evil, one that he himself may have empowered?

Summary
From: Isaac Scego
Book Title: Expiration Date
Book Author: Eric Wilson
What do you like about this book:
Summery::
Expiration Date knows what it wants to be, but it never succeeds in getting there, and in the end, only takes its place among the hundreds of other stories that have potentially interesting ideas and what could have been intriguing conversational points that has transformed into a dull, 400 page reminder that you're wasting your time. Expiration Date is not only preachy, but it has a bad habit of detracting from itself. Filled with clunky dialogue and uninteresting writing, Expiration Date becomes a disappointing downward spiral, jumping from "okay" to "not great," then to "bad," and ultimately to "really bad." Content is not the issue here—there is very little of it. But the same could be said of its substance.
Sexual Content::
Women are described in provocative outfits. Even though Clay is technically still married, he frequently sees his old high school flame and romance is throughout the story. His wife is implied to be having an affair as well. Some kissing and vaguely implied nudity.
Violent Content::
Several people are shot and killed, including a woman being run over by a car, all mostly bloodless. People are manhandled and domestic violence is implied.
Language::
A few uses of "h--l."
Drug/Alcohol Content::
A man is said to visit a bar and return home drunk and characters are described drinking and smoking. Some other references to drugs.
Cleanliness:: 3/5
