When the hunter becomes the hunted…
Serial-killer hunter Nick Shade built his legendary career chasing monsters—sadistic criminals with a gruesome thirst for death. When he rescued Montgomery detective Bobbie Gentry from horrific captivity and helped her reclaim her life, he didn’t intend to be a hero. Or a target. But now a copycat murderer haunts him, and reuniting with Bobbie is his best chance at neutralizing the threat.
Bobbie can’t forget the nightmares of her trauma—or the man who saved her. Working with Nick to outmaneuver the person behind a deadly vendetta feeds her hope that there’s more to her world than ghosts and destruction. Maybe joining Nick’s search for a killer is about gratitude. Maybe it’s nothing more than cold revenge. But the only way they can protect themselves is to trust each other.

Summary
A Deeper Grave by Debra Webb is part of the Shades of Death series. In the first book Bobbi had been abducted by serial killer and she’s lost her family. She met Nick Shade who is a serial killer hunter. He helped her with the case and to regain her life.
I found Nick, his career choice and his background fascinating. He happens to be the son of a serial killer; a pretty notorious one.
The author is a very good writer with an enormous imagination. You're never sure where she's going to go and who is going to survive. She's not above letting one of your characters not make it through the end of the book. The team working with Bobbie each have an interesting story and piece to play in the story.
My only complaint is that they are just too violent and graphic for me. These are images I just do not want in my head which is disappointing for me because she such a good writer. If you don't mind graphic violence I think you will really enjoy this mystery thriller. The characters return from the first book and each are starting to move on in their own way. You can read it as a stand alone but it will be much better if you read the first book; but it is also very violent and graphic.
Sexual Content: from a romantic perspective there is one scene, some of the violence referred to is rape (I rated that under the violence)
Violence: graphic detail, disturbing

Drugs/alcohol - Nothing stood out here to me
