Summary
The Curse of Arundel Hall – A Yellow Cottage Mystery was a fun and entertaining read. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good clean fun mystery. It reminded me of the game clue where you're trying to guess who did it.
Ella is an adorable character that you cannot help but love. The first few chapters set the stage of her life and help you understand her. She loves to solve puzzles and has an uncanny ability that she has developed from her aunt to tell when people are lying. Of course being a woman in that day and age many do not take her seriously. Thankfully Albert recognizes her gift and respects it.
Ella is trying to solve the mystery of the ghost she found in her house and how she died. While researching, another dead body shows up; this one very human. We have plenty of suspects who were all at the party when the woman is murdered. Ella assists Albert who is the Scotland Yard Policy Commissioner to find out who is the killer.
This was my first book by this author and I'm already looking her up to see what other books she's written. The story gives you this feel good positive vibe. I'd love for you to share if you guessed who the killer was. I think the biggest surprise of all was the ending. I never saw that coming. I'm also hoping we find out more about the mysteries of her cottage.
Violence: we have a ghost, a skeleton, and a murder
Alcohol: some drinking
