Summary
Overall There’s nothing quite like reading a medieval England romance. There’s just something about that time period that really speaks to my heart. If you are like me
and love that time period, you won’t want to miss Courting Cassandry. I also appreciate that the two main characters are middle aged. Gerolt is the liege lord of
Cassandry and her daughter Egelina. Gerolt had also been Cassandry’s guardian at the tender age of 19 when his father died. He has been in love with Cassandry for
many years, but never let her know of his love. Cassandry fell in love with and married a knight serving Gerolt. The story opens two years after her husband’s death. Gerolt is hopeful that he might now fulfil his desire to marry Cassandry. When it doesn’t appear that Casssandry shares his affections, he proposes a marriage between her
daughter and his son. She agrees and her and Egelina travel to his castle for the betrothal. Things do not go as expected at the castle. Treachery lurks. This is
a good, clean read. It has humor, romance, and suspense. I highly recommend it.
Violence A little violence, but not overdone.
