Summary
Review of Christmas on the Run by Shirlee McCoy.
I really could not decide if I liked Carly or not. I was impressed with her planning skills to get to Dallas and her career was interesting as a gemstone cutter. However she made several Stupid decisions.
Zane, her son, was absolutely adorable. When he came out in his Spider-Man outfit I was smitten. The author created an adorable young man. He almost stole the show from Dallas. Dallas was the perfect hero. He had his own memories he was fighting during the holidays that seeing Zane intensified. Dallas was so strong mentally and physically. I appreciated how he would be so calm under pressure. All of the HEART men are special. I still have a soft spot for Boone.
Dallas was an example that character overcomes a bad childhood and bad experiences. Which was also what I liked about Carly. She knew she was not going to agree to the blackmail so she was trying to find a way to protect her son and not succumb to their demands. I loved the ending. Again it shows how special Dallas is.
Violence: someone is trying to scare her or skill her, someone ends up in the hospital, someone is shot,
