Aurora’s finest are back in action!
Why are too many healthy seniors dying in nursing homes? Vice detective Noelle O’Banyon can’t let the mystery go. And though she has no business working a homicide case, the love-shy single mom draws partner Duncan Cavanaugh into her rogue investigation. He’s a notorious player she thoroughly disdains–and the feeling’s mutual.
Duncan considers Noelle too straightlaced for his taste. But as they uncover the shocking scandal behind the mysterious deaths, the crime-fighting pair become closer–and passionately in sync. Now, before a killer stops their bliss, can he and Noelle prevent the next murder in Aurora?

Summary
Overall Cavanaugh Strong is one of the best and most authentic books I have read in regards to the female’s role and thought process in her job. She is a strong
woman with doubts that each of us can have in our day jobs and she still remains confident and competent. Noelle and Duncan demonstrate genuine teamwork in their daily
interactions and in the investigation. The story opens and they have been working together as partners for six months. Noelle is known as the Black Widow since her last
two fiancés have died before walking down the aisle. Duncan is one of many, many Cavanaughs surrounding the police department. We run into several of them in the story. I didn’t realize there are 27 other books. Noelle and Duncan have a fun and authentic rapport between them. They truly seem like partners. Noelle and Duncan start investigating the deaths of elderly people with life insurance policies and no family. It is a good mystery with little violence; mostly suspense as you try to figure out who is behind it. This is my first book by Maria Ferrarella but I am definitely looking for her other books now.
Violence They are investigating the deaths of elderly but there are no graphic details and not violence.
