Summary
Madison McKinley and Beckett O\'Reilly have covertly admired each other from a distance for years, until Beckett appears to have broken the heart of Madison\'s younger sister, Jade. Imagine the awkward tension that flows between them when Beckett is coerced into teaching Madison how to sail, in order for her to enter a local regatta, racing the very boat that once belonged to her deceased twin brother, Michael. After spending time under Beckett\'s tutelage, Madison begins to wonder if she, and everyone else, might have misjudged Beckett; his patience and kindness towards her strike a chord of longing deep within the recesses of her soul. Fearing that his checkered past and delinquent father will forever make him an unworthy companion for Madison, Beckett is amazed at how quickly their relationship seems to shift from acquaintance to friend; with a seemingly certain path towards romance. Is he fooling himself into thinking that Madison might possibly feel the same way? But Beckett has some unresolved issues that threaten to undo everything they both hold dear; will forgiveness be powerful enough to conquer regrets? A tender, touching love story with lots of subtle shifts in mood and direction. A good beginning and an even better ending; Denise Hunter has launched her newest series with an outstanding debut!
