Andy Clark lives a simple life in Flatsboro, North Carolina. His days are measured by routine, walking to the grocery store, ensuring that the town's public food pantry stays filled, and enjoying time with the occasional neighbor and pastor. Most of what Andy does is accomplished behind the scenes, being that his physical appearance is marred by the presence of a large facial tumor down one side of his face, making him somewhat of a town oddity, at least that is what Andy assumes is true.
Della Rose Miller never thought that she would be back in Flatsboro with her seven year old daughter, living out of suitcases and struggling to regain purpose. Her husband's infidelity put a swift end to their storybook marriag convincing Della Rose that it was time for Harmony and her to start over. Imagine her surprise when she sees that her childhood friend, Andy Clark, rents space in the same apartment complex, and not only remembers her, but reaches out with the sort of unfettered kindness that Della Rose hadn't even realized that she needed.
With graceful depth and ingenuity, this story comes alive with the type of authenticity that forms from exceptional discernment written into the lives of characters who every reader will immediately love and adore.
