Summary
Alibi for Murder by Debra Webb is a fast-paced, well-crafted suspense mystery that kept me turning the pages. The Colby Agency: The Next Generation series starts as Jamie is being groomed to take over the agency from her grandmother, Victoria. While the book works perfectly well as a standalone, I suspect once you read it, you’ll want to dive into more of the Colby Agency novels—and there are plenty to enjoy! 😊
Allie, our protagonist, is a likable yet somewhat reclusive character. When the FBI comes knocking with a video showing her walking into the room of a man who was later murdered, she reaches out to Stephen Durham—an attorney for the Colby Agency and a high school friend—for help.
The story feels current and cutting-edge, with a secretive tech company at the heart of the mystery. Allie’s connection to the case runs deep—her father once worked for the company and died alongside her mother in a tragic car accident over twenty years ago.
With its intriguing premise, well-paced suspense, and just the right amount of personal stakes, Alibi for Murder is an engaging and satisfying read for mystery lovers and Colby Agency fans alike.
