MTAR: Tell us a little bit about yourself
SQ Eads: I’m happily married to my own hero and we have two married daughters and six wonderful grandchildren. We are active in church and I’ve spent over 25 years involved in Precept Bible studies. My favorite stress reliever is playing the piano. I’m almost never without a book in my hand – traveling, doctor visits, evening entertainment…cooking – time is never wasted if one is reading.
MTAR: What do you do when you are not writing?
SQ Eads: Visiting with friends, family, and especially my six grandchildren are some of my favorite activities. A close second is reading. I was not a devout reader until my early twenties, but when the “book bug” bit, it left a lasting “infection.”
MTAR: What inspired you to write your first book?
SQ Eads: As a voracious reader, my book budget often ran in the red. My husband challenged me to write my own book…and I did.
MTAR: Is there a message in your novels that you want readers to grasp?
SQ Eads: The characters in each of my books are naturally faced with various issues, different difficulties, but they all find that Jesus is the solution in every situation.
MTAR: What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write and why?
SQ Eads: One of my favorite scenes to write is the first meeting of the main characters. I love to keep a romantic element in my novels. Nevertheless, the initial meeting of hero and heroine can engage a gamut of emotions and activities.
MTAR: If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
SQ Eads: I think the only superpower I would like is to always know and be in God’s will…never stepping out on my own.
MTAR: What are the most important attributes to remaining sane as a writer?
SQ Eads: Give yourself a break. I’m blessed to be able to write when I want and set it aside when the muse is missing.
MTAR: What makes you laugh?
SQ Eads: The antics of children, especially my grandchildren make me laugh. You’ll see from my writing that I like to use comedy…in dialogue and ridiculous situations in many of my stories.
MTAR: Are there certain characters you would like to go back to, or is there a theme or idea you’d love to work with?
SQ Eads: I’ve considered writing a book that brings the characters of four of my previous books together…all took place in Arizona/New Mexico.
MTAR: For a reader who is new to your writing which book would you recommend?
SQ Eads: I think I would first ask their preference in reading material. Most of my books are contemporary, but one is a mystery and another is a historical romance. I believe that they are all entertaining and worth reading.
MTAR: What are you working on now?
SQ Eads: I’m currently working on a contemporary romance with a twist. Drawn together from the start, the hero and heroine find more and more in common as their relationship develops. They fall in love, get engaged and plan to marry. Just weeks before the big event, a simple photograph surfaces – another item in common! They both appear in the same picture and both pictures are marked BIRTH FAMILY. Our two adopted characters now face a life changing question – Yours, Mine or Ours?
MTAR: Is there anything that you would like to say to your readers and fans?
SQ Eads: Thank you for reading my books. If you liked them, please tell your friends and be sure to go to your favorite website like More Than A Review and also to Amazon.com and write a good review. I can always use your encouragement and good reviews sell books. They really do! God bless.
