Sophie Green found herself employed as a spy. It’s the kind of thing that could happen to anyone, right? In the course of events, she fell in love with Luke Sharpe, also a spy. After a few adventures, she retired (ignominiously) from spying.
That hasn’t kept her from having adventures. In the latest book in the series, Sophie is the prime suspect in a murder she didn’t commit. She’s on the run in France, being sought by good guys and bad guys alike — and it can be hard to tell the difference.
Since this is Sophie Green we’re talking about, she’s not going to spend her time on the run holed up alone in a cozy bed and breakfast. Instead, she gets involved with a series of questionable people and dangerous projects– while Luke, back in England, is jeopardizing his career in his attempts to clear her name.
The story goes at a breakneck pace, Sophie’s point of view is fun and plucky even in the most horrendous circumstances, and there’s plenty of local color. There’s also romance, mystery, intrigue, danger, and cute shoes.
Enjoy the whole series!
