Summary
Book Review: Shadow Chaser by Christy Barritt
Shadow Chaser is book two in Christy Barritt’s Shadow Agency series. After enjoying Shadow Operative, I was excited to continue with the series.
The mystery was definitely the highlight of this one for me. There were enough potential suspects and possibilities to keep me guessing, and I enjoyed trying to figure out how everything was going to come together. The final reveal was especially satisfying and not something I had completely figured out ahead of time.
I did struggle a little with Emily, though. For whatever reason, I had a hard time connecting with and liking her character, which made me a little less invested in the romance than I was in the mystery. Sometimes a character just doesn't click with you, and that was the case for me with Emily.
Even with that, the suspense kept me interested and I really enjoyed the mystery itself. I'm also enjoying learning more about the Shadow Agency with each book.
If you enjoy romantic suspense with plenty of suspects, twists, and a mystery that keeps you guessing, Shadow Chaser is worth picking up. While this one wasn't quite as strong for me personally as the first book, the mystery and final reveal have me ready to continue the series.
