Summary
AudioBook Review: The Missing Couple by Debra Webb
The Missing Couple is another engaging mystery in Debra Webb’s Colby Agency series. While the books are connected through the Colby Agency, each story stands on its own, making them easy to read in any order. I’ve really enjoyed every installment I’ve read, and this one was no exception.
One of my favorite characters was Charlie. Thanks to the skills she learned from her father—a former sheriff and expert tracker—she plays an important role in the investigation with her remarkable ability to track people through the woods. I always enjoy seeing characters contribute unique talents to a case, and Charlie’s expertise added an extra layer of authenticity to the story.
Billy, the Colby Agency investigator assigned to the case, was another standout character. His involvement is personal because the missing couple includes his sister and her new husband, which raises the emotional stakes and makes the investigation even more compelling. (I have to admit, it took me a little while to get used to a hero named Billy! 😊)
As with many of Debra Webb’s novels, the suspense builds steadily as new clues and suspects emerge. The story is a good reminder that even the quietest small towns can hide dangerous secrets beneath the surface.
If you enjoy fast-paced mysteries, likable investigators, and romantic suspense with plenty of twists, The Missing Couple is another solid addition to the Colby Agency series.
One intimate scene behind closed doors.
Hints of human trafficking, parents possibly murdered, abduction
