Summary
On the Edge of Trust by Patricia Bradley is a compelling mystery that reminded me just how much I enjoy her writing. Returning to Logan Point felt like revisiting an old favorite, and it even made me want to go back and reread Nick’s story from Shadows of the Past.
Although I’m not usually drawn to reporter characters, Tori—a crime reporter and podcaster—won me over quickly. Bradley crafted her as a smart, likable, and determined heroine. Scott, however, was my favorite character. I appreciated watching him work through the physical and emotional challenges left over from his previous job.
The story also introduces several great secondary characters—Drew, Amy, and Caleb—any of whom could easily carry their own books. Drew, in particular, finds himself in a difficult situation that adds depth and tension to the plot. With multiple suspects and a well-layered mystery, this story kept me guessing and fully engaged.
A strong, enjoyable addition to the Logan Point world.
Content warnings - One of the characters is a recovered alcoholic and secondary character may be an alcoholic
