Summary
The Spark of Love is the third and final book in the Mesquite Springs series by Amanda Cabot. Each book totally stands alone so do not worry if you have not read the first two. Each of the books are set in Mesquite Springs (a fictional Texas small town) in the mid 1800s.
Alexandra and Gabe are both newcomers to the town which helps them bond. Alexandra is an heiress who is fleeing a man who wants to marry her to Mesquite Springs where her dad is starting a new hotel venture. Gabe is a private investigator who is working undercover to unmask a con man who happens to be Alexandra’s father. Gabe does not know this at first. Gabe’s father was one of the victims so it is personal for Gabe too.
There are two other men in town with an interest in Alexandra which add to the mystery and suspense.
The series has had a focus on family dynamics which continues in this book. The fathers of both Alexandra and Gabe have made decisions that impacted their families in ways that they may not have expected.
