What do you like about this book:
Ian Bradbury is a writer who is suffering from a horrible case of writer’s block, so horrible his publisher dropped him when he missed the deadline for the next book in his series. On a whim, Ian buys a fixer upper farmhouse in Conner’s Grove. Ian meets Bryce at a construction job he took to gather the skills he will need for his farmhouse remodel. After learning Ian is an author in need of a new agent, Bryce connects him with his cousin, Addison. Addison’s first impression of Ian is that he is grumpy, but that opinion soon changes.
This is an outstanding romance novel. Like Addison, my first impression of Ian wasn’t great. As I got to know him better and learned his backstory, he was much more appealing. I loved the character of Addison since she was first introduced in the series. She is upbeat and a ray of sunshine.
I enjoyed the house remodel aspect of this book. My husband I have done a lot of remodeling on our own and I could so relate to any of the scenes. I thought I was going to lose it when I read the scene with the bathtub. The author did such a great job describing it I swear I saw the entire scene play out before my eyes. It was hilarious. Thank you Leah for always making me laugh!
I think the addition of Friday was a brilliant move on the author’s part. Ian’s character was so disagreeable at the beginning. But, once his interactions with Friday were told, he became instantly likable in my book.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good clean romance. You will not be disappointed.
