After her rescue of nearly fifty kidnapped children made international headlines, Amara Alvarez gets what she’s worked for: a transfer to San Antonio’s Homicide Division. Reality sets in quickly, though, as her first case, the suspicious death of a teenager at a crowded local water park, brings chaos to her personal life.
As the investigation moves forward and she increases the pressure on the suspects, Amara finds herself under attack by cybercriminals. Her every move is being potentially watched online, and she’s forced to resort to unconventional methods to find the killer. With few leads, she fights to keep her first murder investigation from ending up in the cold case files.
Tom Threadgill is back with another riveting page-turner featuring the detective who is willing to put everything on the line to see that justice is served and lives are protected.

Summary
Book Reviewer: Donna Feyen
Network of Deceit by Tom Threadgill is the second book in the series following Detective Amara Alvarez. You can read it without reading the first one.
Amara is thrilled to now be a part of the Homicide Division. Her first case is the death of a teenager at a water park. It is creepy and scary how the cyber criminals are able to attack her.
I really enjoy the relationship between Amara and Starsky both from the personal and professional level.
I enjoy how Threadgill continues to throw some twists into the story to surprise me
I always look forward to Irene Hannon’s new releases and I was not disappointed in Blackberry Beach. I don’t know how she does it, but Hannon just keeps getting better. Be sure to have plenty of time to flip the pages in this one because you won’t want to put it down. I devoured it! Thank you, for more hours of pure entertainment. I’m already looking forward to the next one.
I had not read the book summary so even finding out that Kat was an actess was a surprise for me. I enjoyed the story between Katherine and Zach. However I also enjoyed the story of Zach’s aunt just as much. And since I have read all the books in the series it is always a pleasure to see other characters and of course Charley and his taco stand.
