Summary
Standoff by Patricia Bradley was a romantic suspense with the main characters being park rangers. The main character Brooke is just getting promoted. Her dad dies in the beginning of the book and it is ruled a suicide. She doesn’t believe it and wants to investigate. She also happens to come upon a murder scene and the killer suspects that she heard something and he’s coming after her.
Luke is undercover and not even Brooke knows this. They had a relationship in the past. He has issues from his past that makes him think he would not be good for her. Luke’s scenes undercover are interesting and had you holding your breath.
Brooke also happens to be dating an up-and-coming politician. There’s a lot of action. And a lot of suspects to try to figure out who could’ve done it.
