Summary
Christmas on Maplewood Mountain: A Holiday Romance (Maplewood Sisters Series, Book One) by Elizabeth Bomke.
The book started off a little slow as we get to know the characters. The author is also very descriptive to create some of the opening scenes. You cannot help but love Mary as she comes into herself. She doesn’t follow her family’s expectations of her. I cracked up when she sent the wrong number text. I could see myself doing that. In the beginning I felt that her skills were not visible. Once she is in her environment she takes charge and I liked seeing this side of her.
Mary’s sister Anna has convinced her boss, Kurt to have a company retreat at Mary’s Lodge. The retreat does not turn out as any of them expect.
Kurt is Mary’s opposite. He was from the city and the founder of a high tech company. He is immediately intrigued by Mary. There were some cute scenes as he tries to remain professional in front of his team and also spend time with Mary.
Her sister seemed very selfish and immature and especially to be so successful at her company. This is part of a series and the author is going to have a hard time redeeming her.
This is a very heartwarming Christmas story.
