“You learn early that you don’t get to prove your case with Boy Scouts and nuns. Yes, convicted felons will say anything to get out of jail, but they also know a lot.”
Plea bargains may grease the rails of justice, but for Jamie Brock, prosecuting criminals is not about cutting deals. In her three years as assistant DA, she’s never plea-bargained a case and vows she never will.
But when an infamous defense attorney is indicted for murder and devises a way to bring the entire justice system to a screeching halt, Jamie finds herself at a crossroads. One by one, prisoners begin rejecting deals. Prosecutors are overwhelmed, and felons start walking free on technicalities.
To break the logjam and convict her nemesis, Jamie must reevaluate every principle that has guided her young career. But she has little choice. To convict the devil, sometimes you have to cut a deal with one of his demons.

NOTICE:: Spotify profile Man With No Name holds several playlists designed to fit whatever book you are reading with movie soundtracks and instrumentals to fit any emotion or situation.
Summery::
In the past, Randy Singer had released many brilliant works with honest, three-dimensional characters. But, like all authors, he can release a clunker. And this one was definitely one of them. Two seemingly remote plots are weaved together like two different books in one. Throughout the novel, the author can't seem to decide if he wants to approach one or the other, making everything a confused hunk of wearisome nothing. I truly disliked this novel, and I hope Randy can forgive my hard-to-please-ness. Maybe next time.
Sexual Content::
Rickie Tait was once a porn-star. Porn industries are said to have several topless pictures of her (none of them described), and she was also said to be involved with pimps, prostitutes and rapists multiple times. She was also said to've been abused by an uncle and step-father. She went off to live with several boyfriends. Some talk of affairs. Men and woman are said to live together; romance and flings are rumored. Men go shirtless (on one occasion, a speedo) and women wear bikinis. Couples kiss.
Violent Content::
A woman is found with vomit and blood all over her. She is said to've committed suicide. There's talk of several abusive relationships. Some bar fights get pretty brutal. Talk of past shootings. A man is convicted for cutting his girlfriend's face, and another is said to have been attacked by inmates of the prison, who slice out his tongue, and a woman and child are said to be stabbed multiple times. Details of lethal injection are described vividly. People are shot and fight with a good amount of violence.
Language::
An unfinished "kiss my--". One of h-ll.
Drug/Alcohol Content::
Some bar scenes feature drunk men and women. Someone is said to commit suicide with pills, along with some drug references. There are talks of drug addictions and a bag of cocaine is found on someone. A man talks frequently of his drug addiction, how he was high most of the time and was persistent in smoking and snorting crack.
