The Bug Man is getting married on Saturday . . . if his fiancΘe can find him.
Forensic entomologist Nick Polchak lives in a world of maggots and blow flies and decomposing bodies. No wonder he’s still single.
But Nick has finally found a woman as strange as he isùdog trainer Alena Savard, a woman who is odd, reclusive, and can seemingly talk to animals. It was a match made in heaven.
Nick and Alena are scheduled to be married on Saturdayùbut there’s one small problem. Nick has disappeared.
Caught up in a murder case involving an old friend, Nick finds himself on a manhunt that’s drawing him farther and farther from the church where Alena is waiting. But will he make it back in time? Could Nick’s single-minded focus cause him to forget his own wedding? Is he really pursuing a killer, or is he running away from something else?

Summary
From: Isaac Scego
Book Title: Nick of Time
Book Author: Tim Downs
What do you like about this book:
Summery::
Another body. Another insect. Another Bug Man novel. Not as clever or practical as his other works in this series, yet, it still manages to hold a certain amount of savage charm. That is, despite its obvious flaws--such as its ridiculous and, in ways, disappointing outcome. Definitely not Downs' best. Yet, once again, the characters come through for him.
Sexual Content::
When going to ask a woman some questions, she flirts with him and obviously wants him to stay the night with her (of course, he doesn't). We later find out about an affair between her and the sheriff. Nick looks at a picture of a man and woman naked in a bathtub, bubbles strategically placed to obscure crucial points. Nick and his fiancé share some romantic moments. While standing on the sidewalk at night, she feels like a hooker and men slow down to leer at her as they drive by to their "waiting wives." One such man tries to hit on her pretty persistently. He says he does it just to see if he's "still got it."
Violent Content::
A man is found dead with blood splatters around him and maggots filling his wounds. He is said to be shot along with someone else. Some blood.
Language::
None.
Drug/Alcohol Content::
A woman goes to a bar. Some drunkenness.
