Tee O’Fallon is a cop by day and a romantic suspense novelist at night. She has just published her fourth book, Lock N Load which I purchased at Lori Fosters Reader and Author Get Together. Tee agreed to a last minute interview while we were at RAGT.
Tee started reading romance novels at the age of 14 when she found one in a hotel nightstand while on vacation in Hilton Head. Fast forward several years later and she is on the beach with her boyfriend and he encourages her to write one of her own. That was the catalyst to start her on the publishing path. Tee did not grow up knowing she wanted to be an author but she always knew she wanted to be a cop.
When asked what has surprised her about being an author, she responded that she is surprised that total strangers want to meet her. She shared that the best feeling is when readers share how much they have enjoyed her books.
Her first book, Burnout was extremely well received. It is published by Entangled and she felt a little bit of pressure for the following two books to be as good as Burnout.
She was pleased when the publisher asked if she would like to write a K9 series. Tee is a dog lover. There are people that like dogs and then there are people that love dogs. Tee fits into the love dogs category.
Although Tee has worked in the federal government for over 20 years and is currently working on the police force, she has never worked with a K9. She decided to conduct some research and attended an event where they were working with the state police K9 dogs. You can see a video of her rewarding a black German Shepherd on her Facebook page.
