Justice Betrayed by Patricia Bradley is a romantic suspense that occurs during Elvis Week in Memphis! I am a huge Elvis fan so I was thrilled to learn the storyline.
The book opens with a chilling scene of a young girl terrified of her father.
Rachel is a homicide detective. An Elvis tribute artist brings her a photo and a suspicion of a murder that happened 17 years ago and just days after her mother was murdered. He thinks they might be related. Before she can learn more and get his case file, he is murdered. Her mother’s murder has never been solved and is part of the reason she is a police officer.
Boone is Rachel’s Lieutenant. They had dated for six months before she broke it off and joined his team. They still have feelings for each other. Boone is swoon worthy. I loved his character. I was cheering for him throughout the book.
The secondary characters of the grandmothers and Erin added a beautiful touch to the story. Everyone wants fun grandmothers like these ladies.
The author did a great job of crafting a chilling villain and a plot that kept you guessing until the end.
