Connealy Combines Western Action and Charming Historical Romance
The Boden clan thought their problems had ended with the death of a dangerous enemy, but have they truly uncovered the real plot to take their New Mexico ranch? Rancher Justin Boden is now in charge. He is normally an unshakable and rugged man, but with his brother, Cole, shot and in mortal danger, even a tough man faces doubts. And it doesn’t help that Angie DuPree, the assistant to the doctor trying to save Cole, is as distracting a woman as Justin ever laid eyes on.
With her and the doc’s timely skills, Cole looks to be on the mend, and Justin and the rest of the Bodens can turn their attention back to the dangers facing them. It’s clear now that everything that’s occurred is part of a much bigger plot that could date back to a decades-old secret. Can they uncover all the pieces before danger closes in on them, or is the threat to the ranch even bigger than any of the Bodens could imagine?

Summary
Book Title: Long Time Gone
Book Author: Mary Connealy
What do you like about this book:
" . . . . he smelled clean, like the outdoors and horses and something else she had never smelled before . . . .if strength could have a smell, she'd say that was it."
Angie DuPree lands herself right in the middle of a Boden family conundrum; Cole Boden has been shot, his brother Justin is desperate to get to the bottom of it, their sister Sadie makes it home safely only to announces her wedding to Heath Kincaid. Meanwhile, Angie watches helplessly as they try to figure out the source of the danger that has been stalking their family for weeks. The least she can do is help the doctor save Cole's life and try to stay out of Justin's way as much as possible; if it's possible, the big man is hard to ignore.
Justin Boden is finding it hard to think straight around the doc's pretty assistant. Why is that? Furthermore, when she keeps daring to put herself in harms' way while a killer is on the loose, her actions unleashe a protective instinct inside Justin that surprises him and riles her. He never could understand women. As his family works to protect Cimarron Ranch, Justin discovers that the pretty little woman whom he has admired from a distance, turns out to have more true grit that he could have ever imagined. Which might suit him just fine, if their time doesn't run out.
Mary Connealy has continued her Cimarron Legacy series with a fine example of her ability to weave western romance into a really, really good story.
