Summary
Review for Texas-Sized Trouble by Barb Han which is part of the cattlemen crime club series. If you have been reading the series, the last book was Joshua’s story. Ryder is Joshua’s twin and this is his story. Ryder had a fling with Faith, the daughter of the family that the O’Brien’s have been feuding with for years. Ryder found comfort in Faith’s arms while he was reeling from the death of his parents. The book opens with Faith coming back into his life and asking for his help in finding her stepbrother. Faith finally admits that she is pregnant with his child in order to convince him to help her. She left Ryder when she realized she was pregnant by her family’s arch enemies. The author creates authentic scenes with Faith and her pregnancy. It makes for some touching scenes between Faith and Ryder. There were a few scenes where I felt like she was ridiculous and maybe it could be blamed on the pregnancy hormones. I just wanted her to be smarter.
I love the loyalty in the O'Brien family. Even when he brings home their enemy’s daughter, they stick together and support him. It's great to see those kinds of relationships.
In addition to the drama and relationship issues between Ryder and Faith, there is a thought provoking mystery as to what has happened to her step brother.
My only disappointment with Texas-Sized Trouble is that we did not progress on finding out how their parents were killed. The suspense is killing me
sexual content: previous physical activity; a couple scenes
Violence: her step brother is missing, someone is trying to stop her from finding him, someone is held at gun point
