When Deputy Sam Brooks commits to something, nothing can sway him–not just on the job as liaison between the Mercy Falls sheriff’s department and PEAK Rescue, but in his private life. He’s the one who stuck around to take care of his mother after his father’s accidental death. And he’s the one–perhaps the only one–who believes Sierra Rose is the perfect girl for him. Safe, practical, and organized, she’s nothing like her hippie, impulsive, bleeding heart sister, Willow.
Willow, however, has been in love with Sam Brooks for as long as she can remember. But she wants her sister to have a happy ending. Besides, Willow has other things to focus on–namely, nabbing the job as youth pastor for her small-town church. Best thing for her to do is to purge Sam from her heart.
Neither can predict the events that will bring them together in a fight for their lives in the forbidding wilderness of Glacier National Park. Stranded, injured, and with the winter weather closing in, Sam and Willow will have to work together to save a crew of terrified teenagers. As they fight to survive, they might just discover a new hope for love.

Summary
This is a review of Rescue Me by Susan May Warren. This is part of the series; Montana Rescue Book #2
Deputy Sam Brooks is a liaison between the Mercy Falls sheriff's department and PEAK Rescue. This is Sam and Willow story. Even though Sam is currently dating her sister Sierra; Sierra however is dating Sam to try to get over her boss who is still obsessed with trying to find his niece whose been missing. I know it probably sounds like a soap opera. But it's very well done.
You can empathize with Willow and her insecurities. And you cannot help but love her for her free spirit, her desire to help the young kids, and her positive attitude.
Sam and his brother Pete still have issues from when their father died on a skiing accident with them. Sam blames Pete and harbors so much anger still.
There were some very funny things regarding Pete's and Sam and the bear.
If you have been following the story you'll be excited that Chet is doing so much better. I also felt the author did a very good job of not making the characters cliché. The young youth group leader was well done character. We’ve already met the cast of characters.
I love the story between Pete and just as much as the story of Sam and Sierra. The author trickles in just enough information about jess’s backstory but I'm hoping we get a lot more in the next book. There are a lot of characters but they're easy to keep track of.
Although you get a complete story with Sam and Sierra, the author leaves an earth shattering closing that you cannot wait to read the next book.
