Summary
Safe in His Sites is a book in the Escape Club Heroes series by Regan Black. This is the first book I have read from the series. Grant, a former detective owns the shadowy Escape Club, where investigative brainpower and brawn are for hire. Grant hires people who are having trouble so they can work until their issues are resolved. Mitch is a firefighter who was suspended for hitting someone while at a fire. He's working at the bar until his situation is cleared up. Julia, an up-and-coming lawyer is being stalked and harassed so that she will give up confidential information about a high profile criminal case she is working. She goes to Grant for help and he assigns Mitch to protect her.
The sparks start flying almost immediately. There was a great deal of sexual tension throughout the story although only a couple scenes. Mitch could see beyond her tough work persona to the soft caring woman underneath. They both had bad experiences in their past that they had to overcome to learn to trust each other. The scene in the car on the way to his parent’s was touching. The villain was pretty creepy and resourceful. I found the different ways that he would stalk and harass her interesting. I would say the romance in this one was about equal to the action adventure.
Sexual Content: several scenes of sexual tension leading up to a couple physical scenes
Violence: stalking, harassing, cyber crime, fire
