Summary
Reviewer Name: Stormi Johnson Halfway to the Grave is about a young woman who has been going out at night killing vampires since she was sixteen and found out that she was half vampire. Her mother was raped by a vampire and Cat has always been different but it wasn't until her mother told her what she was that she finally understood why. Her mother encouraged her to go out and kill those monsters. On one night when she was vampire hunting she meets an English vampire who gets the jump on her and threatens to kill her. When he sees she has green eyes like vampires when she gets really mad he can't believe it because she has a heartbeat. So instead of killing her he makes a deal with her that she will help him kill vampires, but only the vampires he wants killed. At first it is an unsteady relationship because she has been taught to hate vampires and she does not trust Bones. Bones falls in love with the feisty red headed young vampire but never acts on it. He refuses to betray her trust and lets her come to him. Cat fights really hard with the concept of falling for a vampire as it goes against everything she knows, that all vampires are monsters. Her mother will never forgive her if she falls for a vampire, but there really is something different about Bones. Something that Cat is drawn too and can't resist. Meanwhile, they are chasing after this really bad vampire who is killing young women, but some how they are not being reported as missing. It becomes very dangerous and Bones doesn't want her involved but she won't listen. The amount of vampires and humans involved in this cover up of missing young girls goes very high up and is a lot more complex than Bones and Cat would have ever thought. I have heard a lot about this series and a lot of reviewers crushing on Bones and now I can officially become one of those reviewers. You almost instantly have this crush on him, he is such an sexy, fun and alluring character. Cat is one of the best female characters I have read in a long while. She is spunky, sassy, sexy and doesn't back down from a fight. Watch out when you make this one mad! Over all I really enjoyed this novel and would recommend it for everyone who likes this type of read.
