Summary
Overall Vampire Academy’s spinoff series Bloodlines is just great! It is built around the alchemist human (someone who helps keep the vampire world a secret) Sydney and
revolves around her lack of choice in what she will do with her life, sibling rivalry and parental control. Sydney is forced to protect Lissa’s sister Jill because Lissa has been named Queen of the Moroi; however, a clause exists that she cannot be queen without a sibling to reign if she dies. Enemies of Lissa realize that all they have to do is kill Jill to remove Lissa from the thrown. Sydney’s human counterparts no longer trust her because she has done so much to help the vampires in Vampire Academy finale, so she has to prove her loyalty to the alchemists. In doing so, she must maintain a strictly rofessional relationship with Jill and any other vampire with whom she must work, but she finds it incredibly hard to ignore her growing feelings for the astonishingly gorgeous Adrien Ivashkov regardless of how much her leaders would punish her, especially her father, if they only knew.
