Near Mulholland Drive, Dr. Stanley Kent is found shot twice in the back of the head. It’s the case LAPD detective Harry Bosch has been waiting for, his first since being recruited to the Homicide Special Squad. When he discovers that Kent had access to dangerous radioactive substances, what begins as a routine investigation becomes something darker, more deadly, and frighteningly urgent. Bosch is soon in conflict with not only his superiors but the FBI, which thinks the case is too important for just a cop. Complicating his job even more is the presence of Agent Rachel Walling, his onetime lover. Now guarding one slim advantage, Bosch relentlessly follows his own instincts, hoping they are still sharp enough to find the truth–and a killer who can annihilate an entire city.

Summary
Overall The Overlook by Michael Connelly is the Harry Bosch series. In this story Harry teams back up with a former lover, FBI agent Rachel Walling. Harry is once again working with a new partner Ferras. Ferras has some concerns about working with Harry and his unconventional methods. Dr. Kent is found shot in the back of the head at The Overlook. During the investigation they find out that Dr Kent had access to radioactive material. I actually guessed one of the killers but I was still on edge for the last 30 minutes of the book. It was a race against time and you could feel the tension.
Violence There are a couple deaths but I didn't find anything disturbing. The wife is found tied up and naked.
Language Few uses of profanity but when they are used it is the F word.
Sexual A previous romance is mentioned.
Drug & Alcohol I don't remember any mentions of alcohol.
