Summary
Overall Ruth Hartman has written a clean historical romance in Rescued by a Duke. Garrett (the Duke) rescues Sasha after she falls in the well. He then takes her back to his castles to heal where he starts to fall in love with her. Garrett was a very likable character. He was not your typical rake afraid of marriage. Sasha was likable until the last couple chapters when she became melodramatic and hypocritical. She never told Garrett about her brother's debts. I was not surprised by the reveal of her brother's murderer; but the story was not plugged as a suspense. I fell in love with Maryann and Douglas the cat. I recommend Rescued by a Duke if you like a good clean historical romance.
Violence The book opens with the bar fight scene of Sasha's brother. She is not trapped in the well long and there are not a lot of details.
Language
Sexual Only kissing.
Drug & Alcohol Her brother drank a lot.
