She didn’t normally approach strange men, but he appeared to be drowning when Tessa found him on the beach of Lanai. It was no coincidence. Moho had been expecting her. Summary
Overall I received Makai Queen while attending the ICRS show in St Louis. I also met the author and was intrigued when I read her bio that she is dedicated to helping
struggling teens find their confidence and faith in the Lord. Although the book it targeted toward teens, I thoroughly enjoyed Makai Queen and felt the Christian message
was subtle. It is fully of adventure and romance with the key theme of forgiveness. It is a fresh storyline that will take the reader to a colorful world of make believe
under the sea. After reading the first three chapters and then meeting Kapua, I was like, how did I not catch that. The book club questions at the back are thought provoking and a great addition to the book. I would recommend moving the Pidgen glossary to the front of the book. It was not helpful after you have already read the
book. The chapter titles increased my anticipation of each chapter as I imagined what would happen next. One of my favorite parts of the book was watching Tessa grew in
her confidence and recognized the dedication and sacrifices her sister made in trying to raise her. Those were some of the most touching scenes for me. The book also demonstrates good friendship between several different characters. I would recommend this book to teens and adults, and Christian and nonChristian if you like adventure with clean romance. I plan to read other books by this author.
Violence Shark attacks, kidnapping, There was danger and suspense, but little violence. Nothing disturbing to me.
Sexual Kissing and hugging.
