As Kate begins to unlock the mysteries of Trevor’s past, his hidden depths fascinate her. However, a shadowy enemy lies in wait and Trevor’s closely guarded secrets are darker than she ever suspected.
As revelations from the past threaten to destroy their careers, their dreams, and even their lives, Trevor and Kate find themselves in a painfully impossible situation. With everything to lose, they must find the strength to trust that hope and love can prevail over all.

Summary
It's the kind of book that you will immediately want to read again! Yes, it's that good! Kate Norton has a nemesis; Trevor McDonough During her school¬age years, the two children competed . . . . for everything academic; ultimately resulting in a competition for a full college scholarship which Kate desperately needed to continue her education. Brilliant in her own right, Kate was the daughter of successful boardinghouse entrepreneurs, but hardly wealthy. Trevor, on the other hand, appeared to have limitless resources; the ward of a senator; arriving at school in a private drawn carriage. The scholarship was awarded to him. Years later, imagine Kate Livingston's utter surprise, when as a young widow her path crosses that of Dr. Trevor McDonough Kendall; a world renowned physician, operating a private research laboratory and clinic, fighting for a cure for tuberculosis. Trevor is just as curious and stone¬faced as Kate remembers him to be, but as she explores the heart of the man she once despised, she finds herself enthralled and equally afraid. Will she be able to move beyond her fear of death to embrace the very life plan which God intends? And will the dark forces from Trevor's past end their hope for happiness before it even has time to begin? I have thoroughly enjoyed all of Elizabeth Camden's books, but there is something extraordinary about this one. It's breath¬taking!!
Sexual: A fabulous example of a romance built on incredible friendship, and shared vision; climaxing with an incredible love.
