Summary
Overall There's an infestation of mothersinlaw in the quaint village of Chitterton Fells, and the daughters in law gather at the pub and blow off steam by planning the deaths of the meddling moms. They all go home feeling more kindly toward their relatives... but then the blackmail begins. And then the deaths. The methods are remarkably similar to the plots dreamed up over gin and tonic at the pub. Can Ellie Haskell stop what she seems to have started before the mums of Chitterton Fells are all gone? This is a fun series, with goofy characters and situations. Ellie Haskell is sweet and smart, and the author plays fair when it comes to the puzzle, strewing clues liberally in the daily drama of English country life.
Violence It's a murder mystery, but there really is no violence in the story.
Sexual Sex is mentioned, but descriptions are limited to mild romance within marriage.
Drug & Alcohol Social drinking takes place.
