Sometimes everything you ever learned about yourself is wrong
Fashion is a fickle industry, a frightening fact for twenty-four year old model Ivy Clark. Ten years in and she’s learned a sacred truth—appearance is everything. Nobody cares about her broken past as long as she looks beautiful for the camera. This is the only life Ivy knows—so when it starts to unravel, she’ll do anything to hold on. Even if that means moving to the quaint island town of Greenbrier, South Carolina, to be the new face of her stepmother’s bridal wear line—an irony too rich for words, since Ivy is far from the pure bride in white.
If only her tenuous future didn’t rest in the hands of Davis Knight, her mysterious new photographer. Not only did he walk away from the kind of success Ivy longs for to work maintenance at a local church, he treats her differently than any man ever has. Somehow, Davis sees through the façade she works so hard to maintain. He, along with a cast of other characters, challenges everything Ivy has come to believe about beauty and worth. Is it possible that God sees her—a woman stained and broken by the world—yet wants her still?

Summary
A Broken Kind of Beautiful by Katie Ganshert To look at Ivy Clark's life one would think that she has it all. That assumption would be wrong, very wrong. She felt more like an empty shell, nothing beyond the beautiful model. An unwanted love child from an affair. And no matter how many men want, and take her body, the hole inside her where her father rejected her just won't fill up. Davis Knight was on his way to fame and fortune in New York City as a fashion photographer. Something happened that snapped him out of it and brought him back to the small town of Greenbrier, South Carolina. Where he put his camera down, for good. Or so he thought. Seems that God had other plans for him. I just loved this story, a real page turner. Ivy didn't know that only one Father could fill that hole and Davis needed to help Ivy without falling back into her world. The other characters are important as well, overcoming what life threw at them to become stronger. I've read and enjoyed all three books by this author. The emotions from her characters are so real...you may want to keep tissues nearby. **Received through WaterBrook Multnomah for review http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/2014/03/katie-ganshert-book-list.html
