We at More Than a Review are always happy to promote good, clean books. Opal shares a little about what does “clean” really means and shares a couple publishers that are focusing on “clean” books. Feel free to share some of your favorite clean books in the comments section.
When you hear the term “clean books” the first thing that pops into MOST people’s minds is inspirational or Christian. While that IS correct it’s not ALL that clean entails.
Sweet has always been a standard heat level in the publishing industry but please don’t mistake sweet for clean. Clean books are sweet but not all sweet books are clean.
The term CLEAN typically means that not only does the title have ZERO sex but most of the time it also means that there is no swearing or graphic violence. Think of it like PG in the movies.
The CLEAN books movement has exploded over the last several years as authors and publishers discover a growing market of readers who have grown tired of trying to filter through retailers to find non secular or inspirational books that fit their desired reading type. Hence the reason that CLEAN has found a home…and doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere anytime soon.
Publishers like Clean Reads and Desert Breeze Publishing have made their mark by publishing ONLY titles that fit within their specific guidelines.
Clean is still sexy. Clean is still entertaining. Clean is still quality reading material.
