Jude Deveraux returns to the magnificent, unforgettable island of Nantucket in the third novel in her Nantucket Brides trilogy, featuring the next generation of her beloved family of Montgomery-Taggerts. Life is anything but perfect for Hallie Hartley, a young physical therapist who has given up nearly everything – even her love life – for her beautiful stepsister, Shelly. One fateful day, Hallie makes two startling discoveries: not only has a mysterious relative left her a house on Nantucket, but Shelly has been trying to steal it. Fleeing to Nantucket, Hallie finds her guest room occupied by wealthy James Taggert who has injured his leg in a skiing accident. Assuming that the devastatingly handsome man has led a charmed life, Hallie is surprised by Jamie at every turn. His attentions draw her out of her shell – but he has a dark secret, and is tormented by nightmares that only her presence can keep at bay. On the gorgeous island, magic is everywhere. As Jamie’s relatives arrive for a wedding gala, the aura of romance – enhanced by a pair of matchmaking ghosts and a colourful island legend – lead Jamie and Hallie towards a very special story of True Love destined to last forever after. Don’t miss the first two Nantucket Brides as they find their Happy Ever After in True Love and For All Time.

Ever After is the third and final book in the A Nantucket Brides Novel I am a huge Jude Deveraux fan and I absolutely loved this series. Ever After was a great conclusion to the Brides of Nantucket series. Although it is part of a series, it can be read alone however it made me want to go back and re-read them all in order again. There are several events that are intertwined between the books that it enhances the experience to read them all in order. Jude has a gift for developing character to fall in love with. Hallie is a physical therapist and has allowed her younger stepsister to take advantage of her for her whole life. The book opens with Hallie finding Shelley in another one of her schemes. This time Hallie puts a stop to it and ends up in Nantucket with a house she has inherited and a guest/patient that she is supposed to help. Hallie thinks that Jamie is a spoiled rich kid that hurt himself skiing. Jamie is trying to hide his PSTD from Hallie because he is tired of his family treating him with kid gloves. There is a very good balance of serious issues and lighter moments of fun along with a touch of the paranormal. I love how her books are so connected. If you’re a Montgomery-Taggert fan, you already know Jamie and his twin, Todd, are the sons of Kane and Cale Taggert from The Matchmakers and you will know about “the one who can tell the twins apart”. I recommend the series if you love a great romance to escape into. Although Ever After is the last in this series, I am hoping Raine and Todd get their own books. An extra bonus is that the book coversare gorgeous.
