Silenced is book four in the Alaskan Series. I have enjoyed all the books in the series but I have been anxiously awaiting Jake and Kayden’s story since Submerged and I was not disappointed. Silenced is a heartwarming romance with plot twists that will keep you guessing until the end. We have been following the dynamic relationship between Jake and Kayden in all three books. In book three, Jake’s background was revealed. Kayden realizes she cannot hide behind her mistrust of him anymore. In Silenced, Kayden is rock climbing and comes across a dead body that they realize has been murdered. Kayden assists Jake with the investigation since they suspect someone in the climbing community was involved. It is jam packed with twists that will leave the reader breathless and plenty of suspects to keep you guessing till the end. Jake is in love with Kayden and not sure how Kayden would react if he were to share his feelings with her. Kayden also has feelings for Jake but is still dealing with her past and not able to act on her feelings. With this heroine Dani created a character we can relate to. Kayden wants so badly to be strong and to do the right things. The relationship between Jake and Kayden in Silenced was rewarding especially for the readers who have been following them. The dialogue was enjoyable and gratifying to see them opening up to each other. I LOVED the scene at the end between them. All of the McKenna siblings are included in the story and we are blessed with two weddings before the end. The fifth book in the story is set up with Reef and Kirra. I highly recommend this series. A must read for any avid romantic suspense reader Although each book has a stand-alone plot I recommend reading them in order to see the additional character development. Dani Pettrey is a writer to watch. She will appeal to fans of Dee Henderson, Lynette Eason, DiAnn Mills and Irene Hannon.
